Eddie Dean is a nationally known music journalist, writer and editor. His Man of Constant Sorrow, an oral history of Bluegrass Legend Ralph Stanley and Kentucky Traveler, an as-told-to life of the acclaimed country singer Ricky Skaggs were critical and commercial successes and are considered exemplars of the musical biography genre. He was for years editor of the print edition of the Washington D.C. City Paper and is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, for which he writes on a variety of cultural issues. His journalism has appeared there, in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. His popular radio show Screaming Target can be heard on WWOD Takoma Park on Tuesdays from 2 to 4. He lives with his wife in Maryland.
